Text of Faye’s Second Letter

You know, I didn’t believe the letters were real before, and I believe them even less, now. The Guardian has the text, or at least some of it, from Faye Turney’s second letter. Here it is:

“Unfortunately during the course of our mission we entered Iranian waters. Even through our wrongdoing, they have still treated us well and humanely, which I am and always will be eternally grateful,” the letter said.

“I ask representatives of the House of Commons after the government had promised this type of incident would not happen again why have they let this occur and why has the government not been questioned over this? Isn’t it time for us to start withdrawing forces from Iraq and let them determine their own future?”

This wasn’t dictated her, and I’m the Easter bunny. The latter is more believable. This sounds a wee bit much of the ass-kissing, and even a little more of the “pull out of Iraq now, so Iran can take over” bit. Meanwhile, Britain has raised the stakes- it is considering formally responding to a confidential letter it received from Iran.

Last night the Foreign Office said it was giving “serious consideration” to a confidential note from the Iranian government about the 15 captives. A spokeswoman said the note’s contents could not be discussed but would receive a formal response.

I’m sure Mahmoud is sweating. The UN also passed a resolution today, which expressed “grave concern”, but Russia refused to let it call for their release, or calling it “depolorable”. Oh, and did I mention that Russia is back on the job, building Iran’s nuke plants?

Pelosi Blocks Resolution Supporting British

House Resolution 267 has been introduced in the House of Representatives. It would condemn Iran for kidnapping the 15 British sailors, and would express our support for the British. Sounds like common sense, right? Apparently, Nancy Pelosi doesn’t think so. It has sat around for at least a week, with Nancy Pelosi refusing to let it come to the floor. You know, even the UN Security Council had the balls to condemn Iran, and support the British. Apparently, Democrats can’t even do that. Ace of Spades has more.

CBC Partners With Fox; Liberals Disagree

Michelle has the full story. I’d personally be fine with the liberals dropping the interview. It would once again show, they can’t stand up to a news network, and couldn’t get close to standing up to terrorists. More later. Gotta run.

UN S.C. Expresses “Grave Concern”; Calls for Release

Across on Fox. Gee, I bet if Iran thought the UN would take it that seriously, they’d never have done it. I’m sure Iranians are shaking in their sandals.

The UN Security Council issued a watered-down statement (mainly because of Russia’s continued support for Iran) which condemned the hostage taking, and expressed “grave concern” for the British hostages. It also called for an immediate resolution to the crisis.

The Stupidity to End All Stupidity

H/T Hotair

The Stupidity to End All Stupidity. Rosie does it all in one show. She professed her belief that 9/11 was an inside job, she admits she doesn’t trust the American government as much as the enemy governments, that she believes you have to leave the US media, to get the real horrible truth about American policies, that apparently every single member of the Bush Administration is under indictment, and basically, that America is evil. Oh, and did I mention she thinks that the War On Terror is just propaganda? And how about the fact that the audience agrees.

The Stupid News of the Day

The National Organization for Women and Legal Momentum, have filed a complaint with the Department of Health and Human Services, saying that they are being discriminated against, by not having access to a program called “Promoting Responsible Fatherhood Initiative”. They are complaining that the group doesn’t offer programs for women, and it should instead offer programs for “parenthood initiative” not just fatherhood. Now, usually you’d blow this off, and say “oy”, but in our modern time, political correctness will be the demise of us. The HHS has told the groups who receive the grants, they must open it up to women, too. Here’s an example:

One of the grants NOW objects to is a five-year, $2 million-a-year award to the D.C. Department of Human Services. It expects to help as many as 2,500 low-income fathers with parenting skills, substance-abuse prevention and treatment, job training and educational development, said Debra Daniels, a D.C. spokeswoman.

“It’s to stabilize families, to improve the lives of children,” Daniels said. Asked if women are eligible, she said, “No, because this is the D.C. Fatherhood Initiative program.”

I demand my right to a mammogram. Or, better yet, motherhood classes. No, you know what, I’m gonna sue the next center that offers “Mommy and Me” classes.
