Paper Publishes List of Concealed Permit Holders
This has happened before. Now another paper, the Sandusky Register, has published a list of concealed weapons permit holders in Erie, Huron, Ottawa, Sandusky and Seneca counties in Ohio. This is all part of the media’s witch hunt of those who choose to exercise their rights.
One business has forced the paper to remove its machines from its premises. People in those areas are canceling their subscriptions, and some are threatening lawsuits. People have left comments on their site:
Also, you need to start publishing photographs and names of women spotted entering abortion clinics. The public has a right to know, right?
Fine. Now you’ve told burglars which houses hve(sic) guns in them, so they can be robbed when no one is home. Tbanks(sic) a lot. Just remember, the purpose of sunshine laws so so the people can check up on the government. It isn’t so people can check up on their neighbors
Has common sense disappeared in this country? Concealed means not known! My husband and I make it a policy NOT to shop at places which have a sign prohibiting concealed carry. It is dangerous to go into places with those signs. The ONLY one carrying a weapon there is the bad guy and no one else. Those with a concealed carry permit obey the law. It’s the bad guys who carry WITHOUT being on this list who you should be concerned about.
Gun rights organizations like Buckeye Firearms Association, and Ohioans for Concealed Carry are, understandably, pissed.
