Who’s The Idiot?

So, I’m watching the press conference on the trapped coal miners. The guy giving it, apparently the President of the company, is ridiculous. He started by telling everyone how wonderful his company is. He talked and talked about how it contributes to the American economy. Then he talks about 30 seconds and says the families are fine, but knows nothing about whether or not the miners are alive. He literally, and I wish I making this crap up, says “But, back to Murray Energy Corp.”.

He then rambles on about “after this tragedy is over” he’s going to take the media down to the mines, and show them how great what they do, is. After about 10 minutes of this, he finally starts repeating what we’ve known since Monday. He finishes by telling us, as if he’s some sort-of savior, that the companies have brought in a ton of machinery to rescue the men.

He now demands the “media helicopters” be removed, and “I will stop until they are gone”. He’s telling the media that it was an earthquake, and he’s trying to pass the buck. Apparently, he’s telling us that the small “earthquake” lasted for 4 1/2 minutes. Seems strange. He then says another “earthquake” occurred (also small) for 2 1/2 minutes. This sounds fishy to me.

He’s very full of himself. The purpose of this conference is to pass the blame – not inform the public. He’s now attacking Fox News and the Associated Press for not printing the statements he wants, but statements from third-parties and the union.

Finally, OSHA has taken the mic.
