Murtha’s Office Hangs Up When Asked About Haditha Marines

He smeared them, convicting them before a trial by saying:

CHRIS MATTHEWS, HOST: Let me ask you Mr. Murtha to give us some details about that. Draw us a picture of what happened at Haditha.

REP. JOHN “JACK” MURTHA: Well, I’ll tell you exactly what happened. One Marine was killed and the Marines just said we’re going to take care – we don’t know who the enemy is, the pressure was too much on them, so they went into houses and they actually killed civilians. And, and –

MATTHEWS:—was this My Lai? Was this a case of – when you say cold blood Congressman, a lot of people think you’re basically saying you got some civilians sitting in a room around a field and they’re executed.

MURTHA: That’s exactly it.

Well, three Marines have been cleared of all charges in the case - just in the last two months. Marines Congressman John Murtha (D-Penn) had already convicted. Well, Bryan Preston from Hot Air decided to give Murtha’s office a call. He wasn’t partisan - he only asked if Murtha’s office had released a statement regarding Haditha. He was respectful, and you couldn’t tell from the call that he was Conservative. The response? She hangs up.

A commenter at Hot Air called, and he was told a statement was not forthcoming. He was told that three Marines haven’t had their charges dropped yet, and so there would be no statement. The commenter asked if Murtha would comment on the dropped charges (which also total 3, or half of those Murtha convicted) and the man hung up. Friendly people in Murtha’s office.
