UPDATE (7:47 PM): Well, apparently, the photo was found on Yahoo! News by CJ. For reasons unknown, it’s now listed under “Iraqi Oil”. Oh, and the caption hasn’t been corrected.

I am shocked. Here’s the page it used to be listed on with Yahoo! News. It now brings you to a 404-Page Not Found error. Ace believes they’re trying to cover it up by simply deleting the factually incorrect caption, without explanation. As he points out, however, it’ll do no good. We all have captions and copies of it. Enjoy, AFP:

And now, Getty Images has updated its version, with a “correction”.
CORRECTS BULLETS TO UNSPENT An elderly Iraqi woman holds up two unspent bullets at her house following an early coalition forces raid in the predominantly Shiite Baghdad suburb of Sadr City, 14 August 2007. US and Iraqi troops carried out massive assaults against Shiite militants, killing four in Baghdad’s volatile slum of Sadr City, and arresting several more across Iraq, the military said today. Not exactly a correction. There’s a difference between holding up two, unspent bullets, and holding up to bullets that hit her house. In one case, she could’ve found them on the ground after being dropped by a soldier. In the other case, they went flying through the air, hit her house, and could’ve killed someone. Nice job, Getty. Again, screen capped.
UPDATE: Commenter Andy B points out the link to the cached version of the original Yahoo! News page.
