It’s only the first post, but thanks to Bryan, we’ve already got our false media story for today. It comes in the form of a false caption, via Agence France-Presse (AFP). Here’s the picture, c/o Bryan:
With the caption:
An elderly Iraqi woman shows two bullets which she says hit her house following an early coalition forces raid in the predominantly Shiite Baghdad suburb of Sadr City.(AFP/Wissam al-Okaili)
The only problem with that, is that the bullets have never been fired. Unless, of course, she put them back together and shined them into pristine condition. They’re still in their shells, which wouldn’t have entered the house with the bullets, but would’ve stayed near the gunman. The bullets haven’t been fired, yet AFP claims “hit” her house. What, did someone throw them?
