I don’t think she’s getting the veteran vote. According to the latest Gallup poll, 64% of veterans have a favorable approval of Rudy Giuliani. Only 29% have an unfavorable view of the front-runner. 52% of veterans have a favorable view of McCain, who is a veteran himself, with 40% having an unfavorable view.
When it comes to Hillary Clinton, it’s safe to say she’s not getting their vote. Only 37% of veterans have a favorable view of the Senator. What’s more significant, however, is her unfavorable image. 59% of veterans have an unfavorable view of Clinton.
But, I know the question on everybody’s mind. By exactly how much is Ron Paul beating all of the other Republican candidates? Well, when it comes down to the wire, a whopping 1% of Republican or Republican-leaning veterans would vote for Ron Paul as their candidate. As for the chickenhawks, who have no chances of winning in ’08, 28% would choose Giuliani, 25% would choose Thompson, 13% would choose McCain, 12% would choose Romney, 3% would choose Hunter, and 2% for Huckabee. This poll must be wrong. Ron Paul is the only true patriot in the field. How could only 1% of veterans choose him? Gallup must be in tank for Rudy McThompson.
