UPDATE: Celebrity Gossip master Perez Hilton has his own sources saying the same thing. According to Perez, an official announcement from U.S. officials is coming soon, and he’s also been told police have been put on high alert in South Florida. I stress again, though, that these are rumors. That’s why I haven’t cracked out the shot glasses, yet.

This seems to be a bit more of a credible rumor than previously. South Florida Law Enforcement have been put on high alert, and reports indicate that an Emergency Operations Center has been set up in Homestead, Fl. BabaluBlog has verified that the Coast Guard has been placed on high alert. BabaluBlog also writes:

Local emergency medical services notified to be on alert by law enforcement agencies.

Im told – and still awaiting confirmation – that buses in Havana have been recalled to terminals and that Cuban workers have been sent home. (still unconfirmed 1500)

His cell hasn’t stopped ringing with these reports.

I certainly hope this is true, but Allah makes a good point: Say he’s dead. Does it matter? Raul’s been in control for a year. As of now, it remains a rumor.
