Visitors found an oil substance (or urine) that seemed to have soaked into the engravings. As you can see, it doesn’t appear to be a polish or cleaner used by Park Police.

It wasn’t just located in this one area, but apparently in different locations. The Freeper says it was less noticeable at the beginning, but more so as it got to the middle.
Concretebob was told by a National Park Service employee that the damage was done on Friday night. There was no police report taken or written about the vandalism, apparently. And the damage was still very much there today.
Why? And why didn’t the NPS stop it? And the commentators at FR want to know if they have security cameras, if not, why?
Have we been transported back to the 70s?
