H/t Michelle Malkin. Hot Air has obtained video of Young America’s Foundation’s Jason Mattera asking the troop-smearing John Murtha (D-PA) about Haditha.

Michelle notes how relieved Murtha is as the elevator door closes. Murtha may not want to be confronted about it, but here’s what he said to MSNBC Hardball’s Chris Matthews last year, before the investigation had even been worked through:

CHRIS MATTHEWS, HOST: Let me ask you Mr. Murtha to give us some details about that. Draw us a picture of what happened at Haditha.

REP. JOHN “JACK” MURTHA: Well, I’ll tell you exactly what happened. One Marine was killed and the Marines just said we’re going to take care – we don’t know who the enemy is, the pressure was too much on them, so they went into houses and they actually killed civilians. And, and –

MATTHEWS:—was this My Lai? Was this a case of – when you say cold blood Congressman, a lot of people think you’re basically saying you got some civilians sitting in a room around a field and they’re executed.

MURTHA: That’s exactly it.

To date, as the video notes, most charges have been dropped for a serious lack of any evidence. A video from an unmanned aerial video shows that Marines had been engaged in long, difficult fights all through the day, with explosions having come from inside the area houses. Only one Marine still has charges related to murder against him, and even The New York Times said there was a good chance those will be dropped.

Knock, knock, Jack!
