For doing a segment on phony soldiers. Apparently he attacked the “integrity and professionalism of some of those Americans”. Of course, this is all about winning back some support from MoveOn after the resolution for its ad calling Petraus a traitor. Thing is with this resolution, introduced by Democratic Rep. Mark Udall (D-CO), is it’s just that - an attempt to get Republicans back. Rush talked about soldiers that were, indeed, fake soldiers. As in they never served in the Armed Services. ABC News did a similar special, “Operation Stolen Valor“, talking about phony soldiers, two days before Rush made his remarks.
It’s a cheap political shot with no grounds. Whereas MoveOn attacked a respected four-star general saying he was a traitor for not taking their stance on the war, Limbaugh attacked people who had claimed to be soldiers to give credence to their agenda, but never actually served.
As Michelle puts it:
Bottom-of-the-barrel desperation.
More.
