If you haven’t read the news, then this is probably the first site you visited this morning. Despite the fact that several of his most touted points have been proven wrong, and fewer than half of published scientists actually endorse the crap he’s shoveling, Al Gore has won the Nobel Peace Prize. He’s joins the distinct ranks of other Nobel winners Jimmy Carter, Yasser Arafat and Mohammed ElBaradei. Previously, he joined the honored ranks of Hitler, Stalin, and another guy Gore hates (Rush) by being nominated.
Let’s review what’s happened with his claims, for which he’s won a top honor on the world stage. As stated earlier, fewer than half of published scientists actually endorse the theory of man-made global warming – not a scientific consensus.

Medical researcher Dr. Klaus-Martin Schulte recently updated this research. Using the same database and search terms as Oreskes, he examined all papers published from 2004 to February 2007. The results have been submitted to the journal Energy and Environment, of which DailyTech has obtained a pre-publication copy. The figures are surprising.

Of 528 total papers on climate change, only 38 (7%) gave an explicit endorsement of the consensus. If one considers “implicit” endorsement (accepting the consensus without explicit statement), the figure rises to 45%. However, while only 32 papers (6%) reject the consensus outright, the largest category (48%) are neutral papers, refusing to either accept or reject the hypothesis. This is no “consensus.”

Yes, only 7% actually fully said they believe the theory.

How about the fact he, perhaps, likes to talk about the most: that 1998 was the hottest year on record. Oh, yeah, did we mention NASA screwed up and the hottest year is now 1934? Yeah, actually 5 of the ten hottest years on record weren’t even within the last 50 years. 1921 was the third hottest on record. Must’ve been the year of the SUV.

Or how about the fact that even the meteorologist on CNN, known for its Liberal bias, says the Goracle’s film contains inaccuracies, including the theory that Katrina was caused by global warming?

And what about the recent ruling by a British judge that Gore’s filmcan’t be shown in schools, unless it’s accompanied by materials that explain the inaccuracies? The judge found no fewer than 9 scientific errors.

Mr Justice Barton yesterday said that while the film was “broadly accurate” in its presentation of climate change, he identified nine significant errors in the film, some of which, he said, had arisen in “the context of alarmism and exaggeration” to support the former US vice-president’s views on climate change….

The judge made his remarks when assessing a case brought by Stewart Dimmock, a Kent school governor and a member of a political group, the New party, who is opposed to a government plan to show the film in secondary schools.

The judge ruled that the film can still be shown in schools, as part of a climate change resources pack, but only if it is accompanied by fresh guidance notes to balance Mr Gore’s “one-sided” views. The “apocalyptic vision” presented in the film was not an impartial analysis of the science of climate change, he said.

The judge also said it might be necessary for the Department of Children, Schools and Families to make clear to teachers some of Mr Gore’s views were not supported or promoted by the government, and there was “a view to the contrary”.

And those are just a few examples. If we wanted to go into his and his supporters hypocrisy, we could mention his jetting around the world in his private, gas-guzzling jet, celebrities who endorse the film owning several jets and vehicles, and his concert to save the earth will require the planting of over 100,000 trees just to offset the emissions it created.

But lack of scientific consensus, inaccurate much-touted facts, official rulings of inaccuracy, and hypocrisy be damned. Those are Inconvenient Truths and our little Goracle’s got an agenda to push.
