Hillary: We Can’t Negotiate With Individual Terrorists

Geraghty’s asking the question I have, too. “Individual terrorists“? What about terrorist groups? Are those acceptable to negotiate with? Shall we site down with al Qaeda, Hezbollah, Hamas, et all?

We cannot negotiate with individual terrorists; they must be hunted down and captured or killed.

So Hillary wants to sit down and negotiate with Hezbollah and Hamas? Where does the line get drawn? Groups that attack us or our allies are up for negotiating with? South Korea did that with the Taliban. It was successful. The Taliban’s response? We’re going to do it again because of the success we had with it.

Update: Several commenters over at Hot Air point out another part of the article:

Using force in lieu of diplomacy compels our young men and women in uniform to carry out missions that they may not be trained or prepared for. And it ignores the value of simply carrying a big stick, rather than using it.

If you carry a big stick, but people know you don’t intend on using it, it kind of devalues the stick.
