Great catch by Bryan. Th Politico’s blog The Crypt reports on the Frost/SCHIP situation:

Malkin and other bloggers have revealed over the past week that the Frost family owned two properties, as well as a couple cars, and had a $45,000 income. The accusation against Democrats, and by extension the Frost family, is that they are too middle class to be granted any subsidized health insurance for their children.

Wrong, simply wrong. First of all, we didn’t uncover the Frost’s income. That was uncovered by the media and Democrats who were pushing the sympathy angle when calling Bush a meanie.

Then there’s the part about the cars. The Frosts own three cars, not “a couple”, and 2 of the 3 are late-model SUVs. The third is a large Ford F250.

Then there’s also the parts Politico casually left out such as the parts about their kids going to an expensive private school, the parents only working “part time” and “intermittently”, and the other details. But we’ll just concentrate on The Politico’s factual errors in this post.

So now that there’s been controversy over the Frost Family, Democrats have dug up another family to rally against Bush. Surprisingly, this time, they seem to be an actual needy family.

For the record, both families (The Frosts and the Wilkersons) qualify for SCHIP whether the expansion happens or not.
