Stossel on Global Warming

by Stephan Tawney on October 21, 2007

Excellent piece by ABC News’ John Stossel. The real inconvenient truth here are, well, the factual errors in Gore’s film and theory. For example, Gore says that sea levels may rise 20 feet within 100 years. Well, the IDCC (which shared the Nobel with Gore) says the seas may rise 7 to 24 inches – not 20 feet. Polar bears drowning? Studies show the population of polar bears is steady and may even be increasing, according to the World Conservation Union and others. Gore also showed carbon dioxide levels, implying that a rise in carbon dioxide controls an increase in world temperature. Well, fact is, carbon dioxide increases actually followed an increase in temperatures – sometimes by hundreds of years. Scientists, including recipients of NASA awards, speak during this segment. It’s an absolute must-see.

So, Gore’s reaction to all of these inconvenient truths, as well as others Stossel covers? Well, he refused to talk with ABC News.
