On October 7, The Washington Post defended its decision to place the news of fewer casualties in Iraq, saying there’s no evidence its a trend, so it’s further back. Well, now a report from the GAO (controlled by Congress), says it’s indeed a trend, and casualties are down to early 2006 levels.
So, folks, it’s a clear trend. Casualties are down significantly. Where of where will WaPo place this story? On Page A14. Where was the initial report published as of October 7? Er, A14. So, now that it’s a trend, WaPo has moved it from A14 to A14.
Bias? What bias?
