Yes, because we allegedly waterboarded a suspect that organized the worst terror attack in U.S. history, he now has the moral high ground, folks. The fact the guy organized an attack that killed nearly 3,000 innocent men, women, and children is apparently lost because he claimed he was “tortured severely”.
Compare that case [the Moussaoui trial] to the case of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, who organized the attacks of 9/11. He was held in a secret prison, where he claims he was tortured severely. Whether he is lying or not, by our actions we have allowed Khalid Mohammed to claim the moral high ground. Khalid Mohammed plays martyr to a world that is inclined to believe it.
Yes, he claims he was “tortured severely”. What a coincidence that al Qaeda members are trained to claim severe torture was inflicted upon them if they’re ever captured. To take that a step further, they’re trained to lie.
Bryan writes:
But even if we had stripped KSM naked and paraded him through downtown Karachi on sandals made of steak knives, Khalid Sheik Mohammed cannot claim any moral high ground from anyone. He masterminded Operation Bojinka, which was intended to kill hundreds of innocent people who were doing nothing more than flying on airplanes. And KSM masterminded 9-11, the wanton killing of nearly 3,000 innocents in an unprovoked act of war on our country. Based on his long career as a terrorist bent on killing as many kuffirs as he can, Khalid Sheik Mohammed can’t claim the moral high ground from the devil himself, much less the United States of America. KSM is filth in human form. And Dodd is taking his side.
Bryan also points out that Dodd’s rhetoric isn’t only stupid, but it’s dangerous. He’s a sitting U.S. Senator and presidential candidate. His hyperbole that a terrorist who plotted 9/11 has a moral high ground over the United States shows al Qaeda (and all terror groups for that matter) that we’re divided, while simultaneously solidifying their resolve and propaganda.
His claim can not be repeated enough: A man who plotted the deaths of nearly 3,000 men, women, and children now has the moral high ground because he claims he was “severely tortured”, which he’s trained to do.
Disgusting…
