Republican presidential candidate Fred Thompson has won the endorsement of the National Right to Life Committee, the largest U.S. antiabortion group, three sources tell FOX News.
The announcement is scheduled to be made Tuesday in Washington D.C.
As Bryan notes, it’s an interesting choice. While Thompson has a strong pro-life voting record, the NRLC has devoted a lot of time to fighting McCain-Feingold. Fred? As Senator, played a key role in passing it. The NRLC strongly favors the Human Life Amendment. Fred? Opposes it.
Here’s what’s most interesting: Major players in the social conservative movement are all split, supporting different candidates. Just in the last week we’ve seen Pat Robertson go to Rudy and now NRLC go to Fred.
