Do you know who the Commander of US Forces in Iraq is? Well, Democratic presidential candidate Bill Richardson doesn’t. News that General David Petraeus has taken over command from General Ricardo Sanchez has apparently not reached the former New Mexico Governor.
He then goes on to brush off the fact that violence is down by 70%, among other progress. Wallace points out that Iraqis have turned on al Qaeda, provinces are now much safer, cities that were death zones are now safe for people to walk down…Richardson ignores, saying it’s a “quagmire”.
The man wants to lead the free world, command the most powerful armed forces in the world, and immediately withdraw us from Iraq. And he doesn’t even know who’s in charge right now. Craptastic.
And Allah points out:
Among other things, he wants an “all-Muslim” peacekeeper force that also includes European forces. Never mind that whether the all-Muslim force is mostly Sunni or Shia would have a major impact on how and where it could be deployed successfully in Iraq, how does one build an all-Muslim force that includes Europeans? Especially when the Europeans aren’t exactly pulling their weight in Afghanistan.
Allah, don’t confuse the man with actual knowledge of the situation and facts on the ground.
Incidentally, the numbers Richardson said meant nothing? Reported by The New York Times.
