This Thanksgiving, Thank A Troop By Text Message

by Stephan Tawney on November 17, 2007

Next Thursday, Americans will gather around their family or community tables to give thanks for everything we have. Our food, our family, our freedom. Our troops.

America Supports You, a group set up by the Department of Defense to allow Americans to thank our soldiers, has launched a Thanksgiving campaign, which allows you to thank our troops for defending and spreading freedom across the globe. But unlike most campaigns, this one will require the use of text messages.

So here’s how it works:

Beginning today, you can use your cellphone to text message a message of thanks to our troops at 89279 (TXASY). Your message will be displayed across the world wide web (see my top right sidebar) between November 17th (today) and November 22nd, for all to see. It’s a great way to show your appreciation for everything our troops are doing, as they spend Thanksgiving away from their loved ones to defend and spread freedom across the globe.
