The man’s painfully ignorant of these important issues. Do you have any idea how stupid his remarks have had to be for me to link to ThinkProgress? Here’s what he told MSNBC:

SHUSTER: But it gets to the idea that being governor of Arkansas is not necessarily best sort of foreign policy experience and that something that I think a lot of your critics are aiming at your direction. How do you respond to them?

HUCKABEE: Well, I don’t blame my staff. It is a situation where a report was released at 10:00 in the morning, the president hadn’t seen it in four years and I’m supposed to see it four hours later.

What makes this man think he’s qualified to hold the highest office in the land? First of all, the president hasn’t had it for four years. The earliest estimate was August, and reports indicate at that time he was only told vaguely. The report is for this year.

Second, as TP points out, it wasn’t “four hours” as Huckabee suggests. It was released the day before. Huckabee was asked the question on December 4th, during the evening hours. The NIE was released to the public in the afternoon of December 3rd.

I’m sure it won’t be long before we’re told we merely misunderstood him.
