It’s no shocker that Rush Limbaugh doesn’t like Mike Huckabee. That could, of course, be because Huck is essentially a Liberal on just about everything besides abortion and marriage. But, Marc Ambinder decided to ask a D.C.-based ally of Huckabee why he/she thinks Rush doesn’t like Huck.
“Honestly, because Rush doesn’t think for himself. That’s not necessarily a slap because he’s not paid to be a thinker—he’s an entertainer. I can’t remember the last time that he has veered from the talking points from the DC/Manhattan chattering class. If they were praising Huckabee, he would be too.”
“Also, I have to think that he’s dying to have Hillary in the White House. Bill Clinton made Rush a megastar. Having another Clinton back in power would make him the Leading Voice of the Opposition once again.”
Now, obviously this ally hasn’t been paying attention at all to Rush. First of all, Rush went after the DC/Manhattan establishment on immigration – helping to lead the charge against the amnesty for illegals much of the establishment wanted.
Second, why would he be opposing Huckabee, if he wants Hillary in the White House? Huckabee will most-likely be one of the easiest targets for her, as opposed to Thompson, Giuliani, Mitt, John, etc.
Not a good idea for one of your allies to go after the most-listened to radio show in the nation (plus those listening overseas) just a few weeks before the primaries.
