On today’s Meet the Press, Ron Paul had this to say:

MR. RUSSERT: So if Iran invaded Israel, what do we do?

REP. PAUL: Well, they’re not going to. That is like saying “Iran is about to invade Mars.” I mean, they have nothing. They don’t have an army or navy or air force. And Israelis have 300 nuclear weapons. Nobody would touch them. But, no, if, if it were in our national security interests and Congress says, “You know, this is very, very important, we have to declare war.” But presidents don’t have the authority to go to war.

I’ll leave the last part alone, because we could go into the War Powers Act of 1973, which gives the president 60-days without Congressional authorization. But we’ll leave that for another day.

Iran possesses an Army, a Navy, and an Air Force. See here, here, here for its Army on parade. It also has an air force and a navy. As Bryan points out, it also possesses a series of Shahab missiles, which it continues to develop and improve. The newest - the Shahab 4 - can reach much of Europe.

Courtesy of Hot Air commenter bnelson44, there’s this. Not only does Iran have an Army, it has the 10th largest in the world.
