I’m somewhat surprised Richardson isn’t asking his supporters to choose Hillary as second, but not so much Biden. I don’t think Biden’s overwhelmingly pleased with any of his fellow Dem candidates, so he’ll probably want to stay as long as he can.
Senator Joe Biden’s Iowa director insists that, despite some reports of a complex deal with Obama, Biden doesn’t intend to ask his supporters to choose a specific “second choice” candidate in Iowa.
“There are no discussions underway and there will be no deal with any campaign. We believe Sen. Biden is strong enough on his own. Everyone knows that Sen. Biden is a popular second choice for the supporters of all the other campaigns. We remain confident that Sen. Biden will surprise folks this evening.”
Governor Bill Richardson’s campaign denies reports he’s asking his supporters to choose Obama as their second choice.
Still, if Richardson’s and Biden’s support doesn’t reach the 15% threshold in a precinct, they’ll have to go elsewhere. Who benefits the most?
