I was personally unable to catch this evenings debate, having a lot of chores to do around the house. I got done in enough time to watch the Dems, but it didn’t sound very…well…exciting. So, just a few notes from across the web.
- Richardson claims terrorists have obtained nukes in Russia. Uh…ok. Haven’t heard that one, yet.
- The Democrats on nuclear terrorism. Obama: “my job as commander in chief will be to make sure that we strike anyone who would do America harm.”. He’d operate in Pakistan. What about Iraq, where we’re currently fighting Al Qaeda, and where terrorists look forward to taking over as a base of operations? Retreat. Edwards pledges to rid the world of nuclear weapons. Richardson would…ask Musharraf to step down and allow elections. ?
- I’m hearing Fred won the debate. He’s not really my first choice (probably my second), but I won’t shed a tear if he wins. If Fredmeister can help derail the HuckTrain, I’m all for it.
- A personal note about the end, which I caught via YouTube earlier tonight. When the Dem debate was over, the Republicans and Democrats joined together on the same stage, shaking hands and laughing. It’s moments like those you realize how civil our elections really are. While we may mudsling, I’m betting all of the candidates will survive the election (literally). And on January 20, 2009, power will be peacefully handed over to the president-elect — again.
