Townhall’s MKH, as well as other media outlets, report on an event that occurred during a Hillary rally today. Two college-age men held up signs reading “Iron My Shirt”.

Two protestors just stood up in the audience holding orange signs that read “IRON MY SHIRT,” and chanted “Iron my shirt, Iron my shirt” for a few seconds until led out by security.

She said, “Obviously the remnants of sexism are alive and well.”

The crowd stood and cheered loudly to drown out the protestors. A few minutes later, she went back to the well with uncharacteristic humor:

“We talk about a lot of issues, and we’ll talk about more tonight. If anyone out there would like me to explain to them how to iron their own shirt, I can do that.”

She got a good laugh, and went on to talk about breaking the glass ceiling, to another standing “O”.

There’s question as to whether or not they’re plants from Clinton’s campaign. My first reaction was “No”, but after thinking about it for a while moved to “possibly”. Well, while it’s still possible it’s a plant, I’m leaning back towards “No”. Michelle Malkin commenter Mookie notes that the saying is actually an internet meme. Apparently college guys show up at feminist rallies with signs that read “Iron My Shirt Bitch”, as seen here. Comparing it with today’s, Mookie notes that they’re very similar, with the exception of “bitch” being gone.

Is it possible it’s a plant? Absolutely. It’s not like the Clinton campaign hasn’t planted people before. But I think it’s just as possible that they were two jackasses who thought it was cool to bring these signs to a presidential candidate’s rally.

Update: Allah’s saying the same thing I am:

The plant rumors are a-swirlin’, but given that it’s derivative of a viral ‘Net meme it’s probably just a couple of kids looking to earn immortality in the jackass hall of fame.
