A while back I told you about the anti-war, anti-military Chicago lawyer who keyed the side of a Marine’s car. Jay Grodner, the slim who keyed Sgt. McNulty’s vehicle, did so simply because he despises the military, having seen the plates on the Sgt.’s car.
Anyway, he was due in court today to explain his actions and defend himself. BlackFive has an major update. Apparently the case was called up at 13:33, but Grodner was no where to be seen. The judge increased bond to $20,000 and issued a warrant for the arrest of the sleeze ball. 7 minutes later Grodner called saying he was going to be late. The judge openly notified the courtroom that when Grodner shows up, he is to be taken into custody. If he failed to, any law enforcement agency would be authorized to pick him up.
BlackFive was told that when Grodner did eventually show up, he was arrested.
In the end, Jay Grodner plead guilty. He was forced to admit he keyed Sgt. McNulty’s car, must donate $600 to the Semper Fi Fund, and must show up at Social Services for probation once a month for a year. More:
Judge told him if he screws up and misses any he will be arrested and will serve 364 days in jail! He told Grodner that the reason the courtroom was so full was because Sgt. McNulty belongs to The Band of Brothers and this is what he can expect when he mistreats a Marine (not his exact words but the same meaning)…
He really admonished him and the part I really liked was when the judge made Grodner admit he keyed Sgt. McNulty’s car. He also explained to him about military plates and how people pay extra because the monies go into a fund for scholarships. I cried but they were tears of joy!!!!!!!!!!!
Sgt. McNulty’s damages were $2400 but his car is fixed and just like The Band of Brothers, he asks that this creep give $600 to a fund for his Brothers. God Bless The Band of Brothers. This is a story the whole world should read about.
Let this be a lesson: This behavior will not be tolerated.
P.S. There’s an added possible semi-punishment here. Grodner is, as I mentioned, a Chicago lawyer dealing in family matters. A Google search reveals that the first 9 of 10 Google results are not his website or his experience, but instead blog posts about his despicable act. With any luck, anyone considering using him will think again.
