During the GOP debate the other night, John McCain said:

“I’ll rely on people to judge me by the company that I keep.”

In that case, conservatives should judge him to not be one of them. Michelle highlights the company McCain keeps. Some examples:

Dr. Juan Hernandez

Hernandez, a former Mexican government official, is perhaps one of the biggest open-borders advocates living today. Hernandez says that the U.S. and Mexico are not two countries but “one region”. Those who oppose his amnesty, “free flow” stance are compared to Nazis and run-of-the-mill racists. He promotes extending banking privileges to illegal aliens, and opposes enforcement measures.

Hernandez is also McCain’s “Hispanic outreach director”.

Senator Russ Feingold

Senator Russ Feingold (D-WI) is, by all measures of the definition, a Far-Left Liberal. Voted against the PATRIOT Act, opposes many free-trade measures, favors doubling the number of H-1B visas issued, opposed the war in Iraq, favors surrender in Iraq, attempted to censure President Bush and supports socialized health care.

Also notable for co-authoring McCain-Feingold, CFR legislation that impeded on the First Amendment.

Senator Teddy Kennedy

One of the most prominent Liberal Senators in the country, he just endorsed the most Liberal Senator. Supports strong gun control measures, opposes ANWR drilling, supports global warming fearmongering, opposed the troop surge, calls for surrender in Iraq, strongly pro-choice, strongly supports gay marriage, and, er, ahem.

Co-author of the McCain-Kennedy amnesty for illegal aliens bill.

The New York Times

Strongly Liberal, anti-war, anti-Bush, anti-Republican, slanders American troops, prints false information, reveals U.S. government anti-terror initiatives and printed the infamous “Betray Us” ad, which was officially censored by Congress.

Endorsed McCain for the 2008 Republican nomination.
