Ferraro Speaks Again

Geraldine Ferraro’s comments about how skin color has helped Barack “Mary Ann”* Obama has been causing a whole lot of controversy as of late, but that’s not silencing her.

Today Ferraro told ABC she was “absolutely not” sorry for what she said.

On CBS, she called out Obama adviser David Axelrod, who Ferraro says has asked her in the past to support other minority candidates he’s worked for, including New York City mayoral candidate Fernando Ferrer, and New York gubernatorial candidate Carl McCall.

“He did it with Bill Clinton, he was successful. He did it with Ed Rendell, he was less successful, and he’s certainly not going to be successful with me,” Ferraro said of Axelrod.

Frankly, I’m not sure where the controversy is. The statement that Obama’s skin color has helped him? How many times have we heard from supporters about how he’d be the First Black President? Heck, during one of Frank Luntz’s focus groups, an Obama supporter tried to pass off his skin color as an accomplishment! Being Black isn’t a reason to vote against anyone, but why deny that it’s helped him? That’s not racist, it’s reality.

Tom Maguire quips:

If Barack Obama were a smooth talking white guy with an uplifting personal biography and no discernible resume, he would be John Edwards.

*We have recently learned that mentioning Sen. Obama’s real middle name is racist/bigoted. With that in mind, he will henceforth be referred to as “Barack ‘Mary Ann’ Obama”. Better?

The media’s Obama worship goes from fanboy to certifiably insane.
