Charges Dropped Against Lance Cpl. Stephen Tatum

That just in from the Associated Press. The United States Marine Corps. has dropped all charges against accused Haditha marine Lance Cpl. Stephen Tatum.

The Marine Corps is dropping all charges against a lance corporal who was accused of involuntary manslaughter in a squad’s killing of 24 Iraqis in Haditha in 2005.

The Marines dropped the case against 26-year-old Lance Cpl. Stephen Tatum on Friday as jury selection was about to begin for his court-martial at Camp Pendleton. He had also been charged with reckless endangerment and aggravated assault.

Michelle Malkin reminds us of Rep. John Murtha (D-PA)’s comments back in 2006. On MSNBC Murtha had claimed the accused Marines, most of whom have been cleared of all charges, killed innocent Iraqis in “cold blood”. Jason Mattera from YAF had caught up with Murtha last year, but he was less-than-interested in talking about his slandering U.S. marines.
