Obama’s Eco-Hypocrisy

Another excellent post by Michelle Malkin.

Barack Obama went after Detroit’s Big 3 for investing in SUVs, which he says was a “mistake”.

“Detroit ended up making investments in SUVs and large trucks because that’s where they perceived a competitive advantage and that’s where they felt they could make the most profit,” the Illinois senator told host Tim Russert. “I think it was a mistake for them not to plan earlier, and now we’re seeing a huge growth in fuel-efficient cars that is benefiting the Japanese automakers and Detroit is getting pounded some more.”

But what about Obama himself? His car of choice is the Chrysler 300C, which is reviewed as follows:

Output: 340 hp, 390 lb-ft
EPA fuel economy, city/highway: 17/25 (17/24 AWD)

That’s right; His personal 300C got less than the 27MPG that he complains is too low a standard. Why do I say “got” instead of “gets”?

As soon as his hypocrisy was exposed, he traded in his gas-guzzling 300C for a Ford Escape Hybrid. How convenient.

By the way, those SUVs he attacks? Yeah.
