I touched on this at the end of a post early this morning, but I wanted to truly highlight the stupidity here. In continuing with his ignorance of geography, history, and civics, here’s what Obama had to say at a speech in New Mexico yesterday:

On this Memorial Day, as our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes — and I see many of them in the audience here today — our sense of patriotism is particularly strong.

He sees many of our nation’s fallen heroes, whom Memorial Day is dedicated to, in the audience of his speech? Does he now admit to having to power of seeing dead people?

Here’s a campaign statement released by his spokesman, which ignores the fact Obama was himself campaigning on Memorial Day:

Obama spokesman Bill Burton declined to respond directly to McCain, saying only: “Senator Obama thinks Memorial Day is a day to honor our nation’s veterans, not a day for political posturing.”

Memorial Day is dedicated to honoring the war dead, not our nation’s veterans. Believe it or not, veterans are honored on…Veterans Day.
