Shockingly, Americans paying $4 for a gallon of gas have this odd desire to drill for oil on land we own. Now if only we could get the milquetoast blockheads in Washington to allow it.
Even as the price of oil nearly doubled over the last year, the percentage of Americans pointing the finger of blame at oil companies fell, from 37% a year ago to 20%.
And 57% favor drilling in areas of the US that are currrently off limits.
For all of the fanfare by the media and Congress, it seems that an overwhelming number of Americans don’t view oil companies as the source of all the world’s ills.
Look, I’m all-for conservation and preserving our national treasures. But we’re talking about an unbelievably small amount of land being used to lower the impact of a major national issue. That seems like a fair trade-off, and it appears that a majority of Americans agree.
