I’m with Ace here. Exactly what “rights” should we have read him when taking him into custody for killing an American soldier?
Against that backdrop [the Boudemaine decision], navy Lt.-Cmdr. Bill Kuebler, Khadr’s military-appointed defence lawyer, will use Wednesday’s hearing to argue that the entire case against the Toronto-born accused terrorist should be thrown out on grounds U.S. authorities have never told him of his rights.
I whole-heartedly recommend the implementation of a “take no prisoners” strategy for the future. Are we really considering the release of an American-killing terrorist because he wasn’t told about unspecified rights he really isn’t entitled to?
