Finished reading? Okay. It would seem that Obama claimed on more than one occasion that he regularly attended Jeremiah Wright’s church as late as 2004. The Newsweek article has Obama claiming that as soon as his Senate run began — in 2003 — he would skip services for months at a time. But here he is on March 27, 2004:
At 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2004, when I was the religion reporter (I am now its religion columnist) at the Chicago Sun-Times, I met then-State Sen. Barack Obama at CafĂ© Baci, a small coffee joint at 330 S. Michigan Avenue in Chicago, to interview him exclusively about his spirituality…
GG:
Do you still attend Trinity?OBAMA:
Yep. Every week. 11 o’clock service. Ever been there? Good service.
So as late as 2004 he claimed to attend Trinity every week and said it was a “good service”. Recall that Wright had long been asserting his cockamamie by that time, saying we deserved 9/11 just days after the attack in 2001.
