Jim Geraghty has a Republican source saying yes, but he remains skeptical. His source says the announcement is coming soon, but Pawlenty apparently has yet to cancel a speech he’s giving on Wednesday. If the claim is true, the announcement would be either tomorrow or Thursday at the earliest based on that.

Pawlenty wouldn’t be a horrible choice (TNR explains why), but he’s not my favorite option. I’d much rather McCain go with somebody like Sarah Palin.
