Les Payne, an editor at Newsday and the founder of the National Association of Black Journalists, asserted at the UNITY convention that white journalists “completely adore” McCain. He even goes as far as saying that the MSM has been covering President Bush favorably for years. Seriously.

“There’s no question that mainstream journalists completely adore McCain and cover him favorably,” Payne said.

“Now it is: You cannot do what we do routinely . . . and have been doing for a century,” he said.

“You have been writing favorable stories about [President] Bush for eight years. This is a serious problem and one of the reasons why this organization was founded,” he said.

Funny, when I think of Chris Matthews, Helen Thomas, David Greggory and others, I don’t think “completely adore McCain” or “favorable stories about Bush”.
