Obama Campaign Approved His Prayer for Publishing, Paper Says
by Stephan Tawney
The campaign of Barack Obama approved of the publishing of his prayer from the western wall, a Ma’ariv spokesman claims. Allah and Geraghty are skeptical, but for some reason TNR and its comment section isn’t.
[A] Ma’ariv spokesman said that “Barack Obama’s note was approved for publication in the international media even before he put in the Kotel, a short time after he wrote it at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem. In any case, since Obama is not a Jew, publishing the note does not constitute an infringement on his right to privacy.”
The paper added that is was “pleased” with its “journalistic accomplishment.”
I’m nowhere near as skeptical as Allah is. Would it really surprise you if the Obama campaign green-lighted his modest prayer for international publication? I wouldn’t exactly be shocked if we learned that the campaign pre-approved what he wrote, too.
We’ll just have to see if other papers heard the same thing or if the Obama camp denies/confirms.
