Republicans Return to House Floor

Republicans are back on the House floor to discuss gas prices today, defying the Democratic adjournment. While Americans continue to pay ridiculously-high prices at the pump, Democrats decided to leave town for a paid vacation without discussing how to ease the pain.

The protest won’t be televised, as only cameras under Pelosi’s control are allowed in the House and those have been shut off. You can follow developments, however, using the tools of new social media. Rep. John Culberson is Twittering here, Heritage’s Robert Bluey is doing the same here, and you can find occasional video phone streams here.

Update: Culberson writes that this isn’t just a one day revival. House conservatives will be on the floor every day this week.
