Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick was jailed today after a judge found he had violated his bond terms by taking an unreported business trip to California. The judge told Kilpatrick that he wouldn’t give him any special deals just because he’s a politician.
A Democratic politician jailed? You know what that means: It’s time for another round of Name That Party! Nowhere in the 9-paragraph, 243-word story does the Associated Press mention his political affiliation. And they’re not the only one to leave out that detail.
