I’ve covered the attack site here before, but I missed this part. In a “profile” of possible GOP VP Eric Cantor, the word “Jewish” is used no fewer than 5 times. The DNC even attempts to connect Cantor and Abramoff by saying:
Both Abramoff and Cantor are Jewish.
And then they get into this:
At Fundraiser, Jack Abramoff Named Sandwich After Eric Cantor — Cantor Asked To Switch Sandwiches. “At a January 2003 fundraiser for Cantor, who had just become chief deputy whip, Abramoff unveiled the Eric Cantor sandwich, ‘a tuna-based stacker,’ which, lamentably, was ‘not quite [the] power lunch befitting’ the only Jewish Republican in the House. Hence a request by Cantor … to switch his eponymous sandwich to roast beef on challah, ‘a deli special that exudes Jewish power.’“
Good Lord. Is the DNC honestly attempting to scare people because Cantor’s Jewish? Why is the fact that Cantor and Abramoff share a religion relevant? What’s the point in including the final sentence of the quote? The fact Cantor’s Jewish isn’t necessary to connect him to Abramoff.
