Obama Attacks McCain on Houses, McCain Strikes Back

by Stephan Tawney on August 21, 2008

Just like the “guilt by association” attack, this is something Barack Obama shouldn’t have brought up. While he attacks McCain for owning 7 houses, he just returned from his beach home in Hawaii where he spends his time when he’s not living in the mansion he bought with the help of a convicted felon. The McCain campaign didn’t hold back, either:

“Does a guy who made more than $4 million last year, just got back from vacation on a private beach in Hawaii and bought his own million-dollar mansion with the help of a convicted felon really want to get into a debate about houses? Does a guy who worries about the price of arugula and thinks regular people “cling” to guns and religion in the face of economic hardship really want to have a debate about who’s in touch with regular Americans?

The end result? The RNC will begin kicking up its offensive against Obama with the Rezko connection, today releasing a fact sheet on the relationship. Expect it to begin making its way into ads.

Hey, maybe Obama can begin attacking McCain for a controversial pastor he had at one point.
