Right after he attacked Sarah Palin’s history, Barack Obama apparently decided that slamming the first female candidate since 1984 without complimenting her isn’t so, er, brilliant. So now we have some damage control from Team Obama
“We send our congratulations to Governor Sarah Palin and her family on her designation as the republican nominee for Vice President. It is yet another encouraging sign that old barriers are falling in our politics. While we obviously have differences over how best to lead this country forward Governor Palin is an admirable person and will add a compelling new voice to this campaign.”
A spokesman for Team Obama is on Fox now. She’s accusing Palin of being a Bush crony (despite evidence to the contrary), called her “Senator Palin”, is all of a sudden pouring praise on Hillary Clinton, and saying that Palin certainly isn’t a household name (neither was Obama).
She claims they “respect” her public service record, but then goes on to bash it. She slams Palin’s time as mayor because it was a small town, while ignoring the fact that Obama’s got “Community Organizer” to his name. She says Obama has been in public service for “over a decade”, while Palin has been in elected office since 1992.
Apparently this was a curveball Team Obama wasn’t prepared for.
