After his campaign released a statement attacking Sarah Palin and her 16 years of executive experience (how many does Obama have again?), it would seem that the Illinois senator is backing down. He’s disowning his campaign’s attack (though, uh, doesn’t he have control over it?):
“I think that, you know, campaigns start getting these hair triggers,” Obama said at Pennsylvania Biodiesel Inc. in Monaca, Pa. “The statement that Joe and I put out reflects our sentiments.”
Call me skeptical, but I seriously doubt Obama had no idea his campaign would launch a hair trigger attack on the first female VP candidate in 24 years. It sounds like he’s backpeddling and tossing his own campaign under the bus.
