The Stupidity of Michael Savage

For most conservatives, the announcement of Palin as running mate today was welcome news. Heck, even Huckabee is singing her praises. But if you’re Michael Savage, this is a sign that McCain is…throwing the election.

McCain has thrown the election. It is clear now with his choice for Vice President that he has no desire to win in November. Why else would he chose an inexperienced woman, whose only apparent qualification is that she won a beauty pageant in the 1980s? Why else would he refuse to say Barack Hussein Obama’s middle name? Why else would he run an ad praising Obama and congratulating him for winning the nomination?

I think I just lost a few IQ points just reading that. First of all, Palin isn’t inexperienced. She has been in elected office since 1992, during which time she has served as councilwoman, mayor, and governor. She has more executive experience than the other candidates combined and has been the commander of Alaska’s national guard for several years now. Second, saying Obama’s middle name as a presidential contender is political suicide. Do we call him “John Sidney McCain” or “John McCain”? The only reason to call Obama by his middle name is to scare people and that wouldn’t fly. Finally, he ran the congratulatory ad for strategic purposes: He was the good guy while Obama slammed him and he stole some of Obama’s thunder by reminding viewers that he’s still in the race.

If McCain had chosen Mitt Romney, a man with real leadership ability, real charisma, and real experience, he might have stood a chance.

Romney, as much as I love him, would’ve been worse. He would’ve continued the “old white rich guys” and only has 1/4th the political experience Palin has. Meanwhile, he would’ve turned off many social conservatives and wouldn’t have caused much of a stir/surprise at all in the news.

We don’t want a panderer, we want a president.

Good luck with that. Non-pandering presidents are few and far between.

Councilwoman, Mayor, and Governor of the largest American state. Current commander of the Alaskan national guard. I don’t care if she was the mayor of a town of 12, it’s still more executive experience than Obama has.

I don’t care how much experience she has. It’s poor judgment to choose as vice president someone you only met once and most people in the country have not heard about. I bet you weren’t singing her praises a couple of days ago.

Furthermore, being a vice president is a serious job and there’s no way she could do that and spend adequate time with a child with Down’s Syndrome.

Also, who would vote for someone against abortion for those who have been raped or been the victim of incest. What a horrible way to further traumatize women.

Actually, I was. Many people were. She was a favorite amongst conservatives, which might help explain how her selection raised $4.5 million in 14 hours yesterday. How many Americans had heard about Obama before his run? By his campaign’s own admission, people are still being introduced to him.

“Furthermore, being a vice president is a serious job and there’s no way she could do that and spend adequate time with a child with Down’s Syndrome.”

Oh, for God’s sake. She’s handled our nation’s biggest state just fine since the birth and her main job will be to check the president’s pulse once a day. I’m thinking her husband may be able to help out if she becomes the nation’s second-in-command.

She’s not setting the president’s agenda. She also wants ANWR open, but McCain opposes it. Cheney’s personally opposed to a federal marriage ban, but Bush wants one. McCain made clear, even when he was inquiring about a pro-choice pick, that he’d be setting the agenda.

Palin has enough experience. What does she need in addition to having 5 children, a career, and a husband still with her. She has managed to keep this in tack, and I feel she has the guts and the know how to keep America safe. At least she is not chummy with people who hate America!
At least she knows who the enemy is and is not so PC that she is afraid to say who they are-Islamic Muslims! When did you ever hear about moderate KKK or NAZI or Hindu, but the people who are schooled to hate America gets a pass. NO WAY!
