And I do mean that quite literally, as in mixed in with the Digiorno boxes and condiment slop.

If you head over to RedState you’ll find this isn’t an isolated incident, either. It would appear that quite a few of those American flags were just dumped aside when the cameras stopped rolling.
Addendum: Aww, a troll responds to the pictures at RedState in the usual reasonable manner:
REDSTATE, HUMM, IT MUST STAND FOR COMMUNIST REPUBLICANS. F*CK ALL REPUBLICANS, YOUR A BUNCH OF OIL LOVING, SCUM SUCKING BASTARDS, EAT SH*T AND DIE ALL YOU BUSH LOVING *SSHOLES, DEATH TO ALL REPUBLICANS, SCREW YOU ALL
And I ended up censoring the passage.

According to AmericanFlags.com:
When a U.S. flag is so worn it is no longer fit to serve as a symbol of our country, it should be destroyed by burning in a dignified manner. Most American Legion Posts, VFW Chapters and Boy Scout Troops regularly conduct dignified flag burning ceremonies, often on Flag Day, June 14th. Contact your local American Legion Hall, VFW Chapter or Boy Scout Troop to inquire about the availability of this service. NEVER THROW A FLAG IN THE GARBAGE!

Actually, with a “flag on a stick” like those are, you are actually legally able to throw them in the trash. You don’t have to burn them. You can bet the Republicans don’t have a room full of them at home either… and I can guarantee they didn’t burn them.
