What an absolute ass. At a time when Dems are accusing McCain and other Republicans of using the word “elitist” as a code word for “uppity”, why would you actually use the word and give them fodder?

Georgia Republican Rep. Lynn Westmoreland used the racially-tinged term “uppity” to describe Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama Thursday…

“Just from what little I’ve seen of her and Mr. Obama, Sen. Obama, they’re a member of an elitist-class individual that thinks that they’re uppity,” Westmoreland said.

He then went on to say:

“I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy…I mean, that’s a storybook, man.”

Oh no, wait, that was Sen. Joe Biden, Barack Obama’s running mate.
