John McCain finds himself up by 3 in Rasmussen Reports’ latest poll, which is the largest lead he’s had in the Daily Tracker since Barack Obama accepted his party’s nomination.
McCain now attracts 48% of the vote while Obama earns 45%. When “leaners” are included, it’s McCain 49%, Obama 46%. Yesterday, the candidates were tied (see recent daily results).
Meanwhile, Gallup believes that it’s possible for Republicans to regain control of the House of Representatives.
A potential shift in fortunes for the Republicans in Congress is seen in the latest USA Today/Gallup survey, with the Democrats now leading the Republicans by just 3 percentage points, 48% to 45%, in voters’ “generic ballot” preferences for Congress…
If these numbers are sustained through Election Day — a big if — Republicans could be expected to regain control of the U.S. House of Representatives.
Wow. Expect the attacks, especially on Palin, to increase in the next few weeks. Obama’s now going personal against McCain, even as his campaign manager is decrying others for doing the same.
Update: Just in case you thought Gallup and Rasmussen were outliers.
