Pelosi: Natural Gas Is A Great Alternative to Fossil Fuels!

Don’t you feel safe going to bed at night knowing that this blithering idiot is second in line to the presidency?

I’m, I’m, I’m investing in something I believe in. I believe in natural gas as a clean, cheap alternative to fossil fuels. … These investments in wind, in solar and biofuels and focus on natural gas, these are the real alternatives.

Emphasis mine. As any high schooler would know, natural gas isn’t an “alternative” to fossil fuels. Natural gas is a fossil fuel. Hey, Madame Speaker? How about a quick check of Wikipedia?

Natural gas is a gaseous fossil fuel consisting primarily of methane but including significant quantities of ethane, propane, butane, and pentane—heavier hydrocarbons removed prior to use as a consumer fuel —as well as carbon dioxide, nitrogen, helium and hydrogen sulfide.

Or, you insufferable nitwit, the Department of Energy’s page for kids.

This isn’t Pelosi’s first boneheaded statement. She was quick to tell the Washington Post how we are going to give incentives for natural gas but not for drilling. Is she fully aware that natural gas is drilled for?

If the site seems promising, drilling begins.  Some of these areas are on land but many are offshore, deep in the ocean.  Once the gas is found, it flows up through the well to the surface of the ground and into large pipelines.

How do you give incentives for natural gas but not drilling, dunderhead?
