Team McCain Responds to Hacking of Palin’s Email Account

Team McCain has responded to the atrocious hacking of Sarah Palin’s email account this morning. Apparently the information has been turned over to authorities.

“This is a shocking invasion of the Governor’s privacy and a violation of law. The matter has been turned over to the appropriate authorities and we hope that anyone in possession of these emails will destroy them. We will have no further comment.”

The hack was, in fact, illegal. Back in August a man plead guilty to hacking the email account of his ex-co-worker. He now faces five years imprisonment for illegally accessing a computer.

Screencaps of the emails were posted after the hack this morning to 4Chan and Wikileaks. The latter appears to be down now, and the former has spent the morning deleting posts and banning those who post the information. The despicable Gawker, meanwhile, has posted Palin’s contact list. The commenters there are thrilled about the prospect of this immoral and illegal act helping bring down the GOP VP candidate. What else would you expect?

Many of the same people who whine over the treatment of terrorists, as well as the invasion of privacy of those suspected of terrorism, are now cheering the invasion of Palin’s privacy. Lovely.
